HINCHMAN, Lucinda Carrington Hensley

Mrs. Lucinda B. Hinchman, 83, of 101 E. Seminary, a life resident of this area, died at 3:50 a. m. today (Sept. 26, 1966) at St. Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a patient 18 days. She was born Lucinda Belle Carrigan, May 21, 1883, in Vermilion County, daughter of John William and Rose Ann Rodgers Carrigan. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Hensley and her second husband John T (Jack) James. She was married Feb. 11, 1953, to Edward A. Hinchman who survives. She is also survived by a son, Otto Hensley of Kingman, Ind.; a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Maryan James) Gill of Danville; a brother, Jabez Carrigan of Georgetown; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Rose and Mrs. Elizabeth Naleway of Danville; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Seven brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death. Mrs. Hinchman was a member of the Women of the Moose, Danville Chapter 216; Senior Citizens Club; Friendly Club; 60 Club; Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Danville Spiritualist Church. She and her husband, John James, built the Flat Iron Grocery near Perrysville in 1926 and they operated it until his death in 1946. The body is at the Pape Memorial Home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Clay Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Parrish Cemetery at Grape Creek. Friends will be received at the funeral home 7-9 tonight and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.  --typed by Walt W
